What are Continuing Education Courses, and why do I need to take them?
Professional licenses are granted on a state-by-state basis. Most states require licensees to take courses at regular intervals to ensure that their knowledge remains current. Courses designed to meet these requirements are known as Continuing Professional Education Courses, or CPEs. Frequently, the course requirements will vary from state to state. Practitioners should consult with the licensing organizations to understand their specific CPE requirements.
